I come from and live in the Midwest. Here our big environmental element is the prairie and the farm. Other parts of the country boast their mountain ranges or powerful ocean fronts. Our 'ocean' is comprised of native grasses, prairie plants and farmland crops. Each blanket fields in fashion with either pristine geometry or random chaos. Both bare seed for metaphorical fruit. In it's quietude this environment provokes equally awesome, powerful, and serenely meditative experiences. A Midwest landscape is as good as any mountain range or ocean front in it's capacity to create allusions for the human experience. |
