Documenting Installations

Site specific art lives and dies by the method with which it is documented. The skilled eye of the photographer or videographer elevates the viewers experience and captures the essence intended by the artist. Site specific art is a wonderful counterpoint to the heavily hammered notion that good art must be permanent (an impossibility) and produced with archivally sound materials. The very essence of site specific art is it’s impermanence. That is aesthetically beautiful in it’s own right.
